A new and exciting monument is being erected at the intersection of Highway 67 Bypass and 174 in Cleburne, Texas.
The Heritage Monument symbolizes a place for everyone. The components of the Heritage Monument represent both the traditional and contemporary aspects of life in the city of Cleburne.
Master Artist and monument designer, Yuri Trushin, researched the history of Cleburne and incorporated that vast knowledge into each component.
At first glance, the monument may ve interpreted as an eternal flame. The four support components of the "flame" represent the diverse ethnicities wich have come from North, South, East and West to settle in Cleburne. The "flame" can also be interpreted as a tee pee representing the shelter of nomadic Native American tribes which traveled to Cleburne to replenish water supplies. The "wagon wheel" is representative of continuing progress and the pioneers who came to call Cleburne their home. Th "wagon wheel" also resembles the wheel of a locomotive, reminding obsevers of Cleburne's rich Railroad history. The cannonball-style components honor General Pat Cleburne, and are also symbolic of bearings which turn the wheel of progress. The Bell represents a voice for everyone and liberty for All.
Diversity, progress, tradition, and honor are encompassed in this work of art.
